Polyvinylpyridine–carbon dots composite-based novel humidity sensor

Abstract This work describes the rational design of thin films based on PVP-modified carbon dots for potential resistive humidity sensing application, prepared via spin coating ITO substrates. The modified were manufactured from graphite waste and with PVP to test synergetic effect two materials. surface hydrophilicity, morphology, properties studied. AFM has been performed investigate films’ texture distribution over surface. Overall, hydrophilicity increases concentration, leading enhanced water vapor absorption film. As a result, sensor’s sensitivity is improved increasing concentration PVP–CDs. electrical response PVP–CDs composite film sensor shows higher level above 80% RH an irregular response; however, 0.5 wt%, sensitivity, linear change in impedance was noted compared other concentrations.
